Battersea

Creative Campaign

How do we persuade people to give a regular gift when everyone’s counting the pennies?

Regular giving is a big ask ask these days. But as we found with Battersea, it’s the little things that can really help to convince cold donors to commit to a monthly gift.

Why little things? Because, as we discovered when we spoke to Battersea’s target audience, it’s the small details that matter most to them. They take for granted that Battersea saves animals lives – but what makes them really want to give is hearing about all the small ways that Battersea goes above and beyond for animals every single day.

This sentiment was echoed by Battersea, in a co-creation workshop we held with stakeholders from across the organisation, to find out what makes Battersea unique and special to them.

What’s more, talking about the “little things” is a great way to convey the tangible difference an individual donor can make each month, whether that’s a dog walk or playtime with a cat. It was also a really neat fit with Battersea’s new brand message “we’re all in for them”.

After making sure we had the message right, the fun began! We created a heartwarming commercial it showing the many little things Battersea staff do to help rescue animals feel happy, safe and loved.

The commercial went on air in October, alongside a suite of tactical social films, also created by WPNC. We really hope our work makes a big difference to animals…
