WPNC is looking for an experienced client services person to join the agency in the position of Account Director.

WPNC is an established full service Direct and Digital agency based in Soho, London. The working environment is very friendly, supportive and sociable. Our office is based in central London, with regular one day weekly attendance in the office and for the rest of the week, wework remotely, save for key meetings, production sessions and conferences, or client meetings. 

A key member of the Client Services Team, the Account Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships both with clients and external partners, and within the agency. The Account Director will play an essential role in supporting senior management and our clients. The Account Director must have a genuine passion for developing initiatives to achieve exceptional results. Impeccable client liaison skills are essential. Account Director's responsibilities are set out below.

Person Specification 

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience of the charity sector within either an agency or client environment. You will be used to managing multiple cross channel campaigns at the same time. With a strong understanding of marketing channels and trends to enhance performance of campaigns across the board – for example, the role of digital marketing.

The Account Director will build and retain strong relationships with their core clients. They will use their knowledge of the client’s business needs and objectives - as well as the wider market - to advise on strategies, interrogate briefs and develop plans for delivering on these. You will act as a champion for the work that is delivered, highlight the wins, recognise what we can do better and build on this for future campaigns.

You will work with the Senior Client Services team to recognise opportunities to deliver on agency income forecast, in the short and long term. Working with internal resource providers they will help implement a smooth and efficient operating model within the agency, helping to deliver agency profitability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Account Development:

  • Be a forward thinker – this role isn’t just about doing, it’s about planning, learning and building stronger projects and relationships because of it
  • Be at the heart of the development of the strategic and creative work, seizing opportunities to drive new business and become an integral part of the client’s team
  • Be able to understand, interrogate and challenge when appropriate, the client briefs to deliver strong creative briefs that are rich with consumer insight and a strong creative proposition
  • Be an advocate for the client within the agency – understand their challenges, passions and motivations to bring the importance of their work to life for internal teams.

 

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of budgets and forecast for core accounts: long term oversight of income against targets
  • Management of billing and maintenance of agency records
  • Proactively spot opportunities to financially develop client business
  • Ensuring work is estimated accurately and the account finances are kept up to date advising Senior Client Services Team if there are any issues

 

 Day to Day:

  • Work with the team to co-ordinate and oversee the end-to-end delivery of all projects on a daily basis, across all accounts ensuring activity is achieved on time, on budget and to a high standard
  • Develop proposals in response to client queries and upsell our services
  • Present strategy, creative and proposals where required
  • Uses creative judgment to ensure that work delivered meets client expectations and follows insight and proposition identified in the brief.
  • Manage and control day-to-day client contact and running of business area
  • Ensure Agency process is followed plans are written, estimates are sent out, briefs are approved and WIPs take place
  • Work with the senior team members to identify ways to drive efficiency within the agency
  • Management of delivery of status reports, contact reports etc and ensuring they are  accurate
  • Attends appropriate meetings, ensuring good communication on the account – and dissemination of key information
  • Monitor results plus present and review the results with the wider team
  • Continuously provide updated information regarding status of work always managing the clients’ expectations
  • Produce clear project documentation on costs, copy and artwork instructions – ensure this scope is followed and referred to, with any additional costs flagged and charged on accordingly
  • Ensure client and agency is kept up-to-date with any developments on the account via attendance at relevant meetings, regular reviews and status meetings
  • Supporting our Planning team with insight gathering, project management and costs
  • Oversee and Deliver end of campaign wash ups with internal and external parties
  • Where appropriate work with junior team members to develop their own skills, offer mentorship and be a strong team leader

 

Hybrid: Homeworking/ allocated days at London W1 Location

Full Time ideally, Part-time considered

Salary level will be competitive and based on seniority and experience.
